Jinx Troon Decoy Painting Contest |
| This competition is open to all artists. Competitors to supply their own
entries (carved by themselves or others), ready for painting. SPECIES: Any Bird,
or Fish, either sex, any size, any pose. "Ready for
painting" means bare wood, or sealed and primed. All entries must be
executed as simple sculptures without feather inserts or feather textured surfaces
decorated by rotary or burning tools. Judges will be instructed to award for artistry and
painting skills, not absolute ornithological markings. All birds become the property
of the PFDA, to be auctioned on the show floor or at the evening banquet, with
contestants receiving 50% of the sale price. Awards: Ribbons for lst, 2nd, 3rd and
Honorable Mention. |

Carving Contest |
| Hand tools will be the order of the day, A Ruddy
Turnstone blank will be
provided slightly shaped. So bring you hand tools, and get ready for the fun. All carvers
will be given 2 hours to complete a life-like carving. All carvings will be sold at
auction. Awards: Ribbons for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorable Mention. |

Junior Carver Contest - Sunday |
| This competition is open to any carver 18
years old or younger. Entries will be accepted until Sunday at 11:30 a.m. Walk-in entries
on Sunday are preferred. There is no entry fee for this class. Entries can be any native
North American waterfowl. Entries must be hand made of wood. Feather carving is optional.
Entries will be judged on the table. Awards: 1st, 2nd, 3rd and
Honorable Mention ribbons, plus gift certificates for carving supplies
as prizes |
